The world-leading distributed acoustic sensor, the MS-DAS, adopts the self-designed microstructure fiber with continuous backscattering enhancement along the axial direction and the optical time-domain reflection sensing technology based on optical coherence detection. which allows for continuously recording of the acoustic signal transmission and the spatial distribution of sound field along the long -haul optics transmission. The minimum detectable strain of the system can be lower than nanometer level strain, and the response frequency band range is from the infrasound to ultrasonic. The system can be applied to the distributed measurement of earthquake wave, micro-vibration and micro-strain etc. And it has great application potential in resource exploration,earthquake monitoring,pipeline safety,perimeter security and other related fields.
